Agnes Baden-Powell

Agnes Baden-Powell, died June 1945, became the first president of the Girl Guides when it was formed in 1910. She was the older sister of Robert Baden-Powell, the founder of the world scouting movement, and was asked by him to organize the new Girl Scouts.

She stepped down as president of the Girl Guides in 1917 and was replaced by Princess Mary. She remained as vice-president of the Girl Guides until her death at age 86.
