• January 1 - Kurt Nilsen won the World Idol
• January 3- Britney Spears marries an old childhood friend in Las Vegas according to newspaper reports. The divorce followed some hours later.
• February 17- The Brit Awards are held in London. The Darkness, Dido, Busted and Justin Timberlake are among the winners.
• Mid-Spring/Summer - Rush is recording a new album, which will be released around late 2004 or early 2005.
• May 18 to May 23 - European Festival of Youth Choirs (EJCF) in Basel expected to be held.
