Andre Theuriet, 1833-1907 Born at Marly-leRoy, near Versailles Was a member of the Academie Francaise His books are rarely read nowadays. He is famous though for his short story, Les Peches

Claude Adhemar Andre Theuriet was born at Marly-le-Roy, near Versailles, in 1833. He wrote novles and poetry. His novels 'Raymonde', 'Sauvageonne', 'Les Maugars' and 'La Maison des deux Barbeaux' give a good picture of family life in the province. Andre Theuriet was a member of the French Academy. He is known mainly for one short story, 'Les Peches'.
